All you need in a TV on a budget

The good thing about a TV price comparison website is the choice. Chusaroo has joined forces with some of the most trusted retailers, established businesses that only stock some of the most in demand products. Hopefully Chusaroo will give you the confidence that there are stockists of the same products that you may not have thought of checking or even heard of. What choice of retailer also brings is competition which for you as a consumer helps drive down prices, especially with older TV's.

Advances in the technology surrounding television, and its exponential growth has meant there has not been a better time to buy a TV as prices have been driven down for technology that 12 months ago was new and cutting edge. For example, a 30 inch flat screen Philips LCD (liquid crystal display) in 2004 on release was £2700 from Currys. A 5 Star What Hi Fi product that delivered pixel plus where each pixel was effectively split in two to deliver twice the resolution and contrast. This made this standard def TV high definition - and you paid for the privilege. Now in 2018 you can buy a 4K Ultra High Definition Smart TV for less than £500, have it delivered to your door and get a 5 year warranty included.

2017 and 2018 has seen the 4K Ultra HD revolution. It has of course been around much longer but only recently have we had access to enough 4K content to make it cost effective. Below we show some of the best value for money TV's; a mixture of 2017 and 2018 products with all the tech you will need to a> future proof your self and b> receive the best possible experience for the money. All under £600, all given excellent reviews by some of the leading experts namely What Hi-Fi, Rtings, Techradar aswell as user reviews from several retailers.

Don't get us wrong...There are better TV's on the market today but these products are listed because they hold their own with the premium products in terms of the functionality and technology but at a fraction of the price.

Best Value for Money

One of the original 4k ultra hd products on the market and a very solid offering from LG. All the HDR formats are catered for, giving you piece of mind that which ever HDR broadcast you are watching the TV will automatically pick it up. 4 HDMI sockets, and ethernet give you maximum connectivity. Standard refresh rate though of 50Hz is quite low by todays standards so look at the OLEDS, Bravia's and QLED if you are a sports fan or gamer.

What HiFi 2018 Award winner. Fantastic value for money with all the features you need. Freeview Play HD, HDR, Netflix, Prime Video to name but a few, and Ambilight. Lights up the wall behind your TV - has the effect of softening the brightness of the screen to enhance detail. Can be set up to change colours depending on the colour of the picture.

A great budget television made all the better by Sony Bravia's processing powers! Recommended if you enjoy using streaming services such as BBC iplayer, ITV Hub etc in a smaller room, ideally a darker room such as a bedroom. In a nutshell, if you watch sports and high def movies - go for a larger full HD or 4k product. On a negative note, this has its HDMI and aerial connection on the side. These stick out and looks untidy when watching! Absolute bargain price though and very easy to set up.

A fantastic product, released in April 2018 so comes with all the tech you need. HDR, 4K Ultra HD, Catchup and Freeview HD to name but a few. £140 more expensive than the Sony above but if you look at what that gives you; it’s a bargain. This is much more of a TV you would have in your main room whereas the Sony above we would recommend in a smaller and darker room, for example your bedroom.

A relatively modern 4K TV released in April 2018, with excellent features. Great value for money but not one of the better LG televisions. The border is relatively thick at roughly 0.75", this may not sound much to worry about but its about half an inch thicker than other 55" TV's. Also, deep blacks can appear greyish in certain conditions. If this bothers you, we would recommend the OLED screens by LG.

One of the older products in the article, released in 2016. Only Full HD and not 4K but still fantastic value for money. Packed with features and ideal for fast moving sporting action and gaming. We suggest looking at spending slightly more and getting a 4K TV, the improvement in image will be worth it.
